A 78-year-old grandmother who was abducted from her home in a tiny Vermont town and killed will be laid to rest on Monday. Funeral services are set for Pat O'Hagan at St. Elizabeth's church in Lyndonville. O'Hagan was a grandmother of nine and served as president of the historical society, working a church's annual chicken dinner and volunteering at a food pantry. She was reported missing Sept. 11 from Sheffield, a rural town of about 700 residents. Her body was found on Oct. 3 by some bird hunters in a wooded area in Wheelock, about 10 miles from her home.
This is so sad. Why would somebody abduct a sweet little old lady? That is just wrong. How would the person that did this like it if someone did that to their grandmother. That poor little old lady! I can't believe that someone would do this. I hope they find the perpatraitor real soon so that they can be brought to justice. My heart goes out to her family. I bet her grandchildren really miss her. She shouldn't have had to die that way. She should have died an old woman, warm in her bed. Her family didn't even get to give her a proper good-bye before she passed on. That is just so disrespectful. It makes me sick. She shouldn't have been murdered and then just tossed in the woods for the birds to pick at her remains. She should have been surrounded by family and friends when she passed on. I hope that they find the guy who did this so that he can look the family of that little old lady in the eye and be put to justice. I hope they find whoever did this soon. The longer it takes to put this person to justice for this crime, the longer the family of the victom has to wait for peace to be brought for the matter at hand.
Holly, this is so sad. I actually went to church with a woman that this same exact thing happened to her mom who attended our church too. In the end they found that it was the son-in-law who killed the elderly lady for insurance. Can you imagine finding out your brother in law killed your mom or worse your husband????? We live in a small town so you can imagine how scared we all were, especially older woman who lived alone, until they finally put the pieces together. I hope they don't find it to be a family member in this womans case. The wierd thing in the case in my area was, she was found by coon hunters who were people I knew as well. It was so tragic for the family, the people who found her and the whole community. I feel bad for all concerned in this case.
