In Philadelphia a postal carrier by the name of David Blauser has been accused of storing 12,808 pieces of undelivered mail at home in his garage. U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger says it took Blauser over 13 years to collect the mail and store it in his home instead of delivering it. It took about 3 postal trucks to remove the mail from Blauser's garage and deliver it to the rightful owners. If convicted of obstructing the delivery of mail, Blauser could face up to 6 months in jail, 5 years probabation, and a $5,000 fine.
So thats where all our mail has been going! I knew there was a reason my grandmother wasn't responding to my letters for a huge inheritance! Just kidding! In all seriousness though, I think this guy should get a little more of a punishment than 6 months in jail. That's like a slap on the wrist for most criminals. What David Blauser did is calling stealing. He is a dirty thief! You don't know what was in all those envelopes. The people that got their mail stolen by this guy are lucky that he didn't open their mail. People send personal things, valueable things, and all kinds of stuff in the mail. All those people that had their mail stolen were probably furious about this incident. It's pretty bad when you can't trust the guy delivering your mail. What kind of idiot would steal mail, store it in his garage, and not even open a single envelope? It took that guy 13 years to collect all that mail and he didn't even open one! He must have had a terrible hoarding problem. Must have come from all those years of working as a postal carrier. He just became to attached to the mail!
